Alice on the Outside by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

Alice learns to solve problems and enjoy life as it is in this book. Another big thing is that Alice's school observes a Consciousness Raising Week for prejudice, and the students all have different priorities, depending on hair color. Alice sure learns a lot of things in this book!

Patiently Alice by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

The characters in this book all seem so real. Alice goes through a ton of everyday problems that girls in real life go through. With support from her friends, she survives and succeeds at the end. We can all relate somehow to Alice's problems!
