In Leviathan, we meet two quite different characters. Alek, a well educated orphaned Austrian prince on the run from his country's own allies and Deryn, a tomboyish London girl dressed as a boy to be able to go fly genetically modified beasts. Their countries are at war, and they will have to find away to surivive or escape.
I thought this was a fantastic steampunk novel with nice illustrations, but this book ended horribly abruptly.
