The Titan's Curse, by Rick Riordan

This book was very good. The thing about sequels never being as good as the origanal does not apply here. The adventure keeps you hooked from the very first page.
When Percy and his friends try to bring two halfbloods to camp they are attacked by a monster who talks about a mysterious 'General' and a monster that will destroy Olympus. They are rescued by the goddess Artemis and her hunters but Annabeth falls off the side of a cliff. Artemis leaves to track the monster and the group arrives safely at camp. They find out that Artemis is in trouble and go on a quest that the Oracle says two will die on. Thalia, Percy, Grover, and two of the hunters go across country to save Artemis and Annabeth from Luke and the forces of the titan lord Kronos. One of the hunters is killed in Arizona by a giant robot, but the group continues on. They are chased by skeletons and finally find out that the monster has been following them all along. The monster's power is that the one who kills it and burns it's entrails will have the power to destroy the gods. Grover takes the monster back to camp so it is up to the other three to rescue Artemis. The other hunter is killed and Artemis and Annabeth is rescued. Thalia joins the hunters so she will not turn sixteen, because there is a prophecy that the next child of Hades, Zues or Posiden to turn sixteen will either save or destroy Olympus. Thalia is a daughter of Zues. This means that the prophecy is probably about Percy.
This is a great book and I can't wait to read the sequel.
5 stars,
Ali
