This book's writing style is not very masterful, and the story itself is dark
and often depressing and violent, but it is still intensely captivating. The
characters were so diverse, so saddening and poignant, that it made me pick up
the second and third books. Compared to the first, these were a total
disappointment, but I loved the first enough to buy if for my collection.4 Stars
