Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster

I think Daddy-Long-Legs is a really good book. It is about a girl named Jerusha Abbott who grew up in an orphanage scrubbing floors and taking care of all the younger orphans. One day Mrs. Lippet called Jerusha to her office - Jerusha knew this couldn't be good. Mrs. Lippet named Jerusha off a tombstone and none of the orphans exactly liked her. But Jerusha was surprised, Mrs. Lippet told her that an anonymous trustee who wished to be refered to as John Smith, had sent her to college. This book is full of Jerusha's letters to the mysterious trustee who she calls, Daddy-Long-Legs.
