The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo was a pretty good book. I liked the way the book was split up for each of the characters and then the climax. I really had no idea how it was going to turn out until the end. I was confused by some of the character's actions but I really liked it. I felt super sympathetic for Mig, I felt glad for the princess, sorry for the rat, and happy for Despereaux. I would recommend this book for smaller children.4 Stars
