Esperanza Rising is a good book that I read in 5th grade and loved. It is a book about Esperanza and her hard life. She is a rich young lady who lives with her mother and father on a vineyard. Her father’s brothers kill her father so they can have his ranch, his wife and house maids. After Esperanza’s family loses all their money because their house was burned down, they have to go to the USA and work. I think all people would like this book because it teaches you that you don’t have to be rich to be happy. This is my second time reading this book because I loved it so much.
