The Woman Behind the New Deal by Kirstin Downey

Usually I'm pretty skeptical of biographies: they are bland, long and stuffed with facts. However I found this biography of Francis Perkins to be fascinating. The book really helps show how her untiring efforts shaped labor laws for decades to come. Also, the book gives a good insight into the world of politics and what one must do to survive.

4 Stars
