A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park

Tree-ear is an orphan boy living in a Korean village in the twelfth century. From when he was about two, he has lived with Crane man under a bridge, living on scraps of food. But one day when Tree-ear sees Min the master potter making pottery, everything changes. When Tree-ear sneaks into Min's pottery workplace and accidentaly breaks a jug, he must work for Min to repay him for breaking the jug. Then he is sent to the king's court in Songdo to show the masters pottery. Little did Tree-ear know that the trip would change his life forever.I really enjoyed this book because it is very detailed and descriptive. would recommend this book to any person no matter what age they were.
