Pendragon: Merchant of Death by D.J. MacHale

Bobby is living with his family: his mom, his dad, his sister, Shannon and Marley his beloved dog. One day when Bobby is getting ready to leave for his basketball semifinals, Courtney stops by and admits her feelings for him. He too does the same and they kiss. During their kiss, Uncle Press shows up on his motorcycle and then he whisks him away. Bobby finds out he is a traveler, and then learns about the flumes. They go to Denduron and their mission begins, but once they return back to 2nd Earth nothing is ever the same again, for Bobby's family is missing.

This was a good book with plenty of action and thought put into it. Kids will love the Pendragon series.
