Gemma Doyle has been seeing visions about her mothers death, and strange other things at Spence, the finishing school that she goes to. She has been getting strange clues about realms and "The Order", a group of women with powers over vast magical realms. Gemma soon realizes with her friends the truth about herself, her mother, and the realms.I thought this was a fantastically freaky English themed book. It tied in the 1870's English worryings about corsets and husbands and such, along with the magic and realms. It had some weak points though.
